Working out in times of Covid-19 – and not missing the gym at all, is not only possible but utterly necessary. During these tough and unprecedented times, we spent a lot of time in lockdown and working from home. We had to adapt, in a blink of an eye, to a completely new model of life, and have been deprived of our habits and for a while of our freedom, too. We all felt our physical safety jeopardised. Furthermore, lacking of human connections (which affects the release of important hormones such as oxytocin, for instance) has led many of us feeling a kind of disconnection from reality and created a new form of stress which is subtle, but persistent. Spending time indoor, confined in the same xx square metres all days long, sometimes completely alone or, even worse, with people we cannot get along very well, took care of the rest. And last but not least, this very sedentary and stressful lifestyle most likely has messed up not only our emotional stability but our physical shape too!

What I noticed on myself is that the more I got intolerant and resistent to the situation, the more stressed I became. And the more stressed I became the more it backfired to me, so that in short while I found myself in a tailspin of action paralysis, apathy and ineffectiveness. It was then only a matter of days that I started making up creative excuses to stop doing even the stuff that could have been helpful. Then I recalled myself something. Of course, it was dfficult and this is why I had to appeal to my best personality traits, motivation and attitude to get the best out of this moment, anyway. Furthermore, I really had no excuses as I had the right program and structure to help and support me.
